PARAGON BIOMEDICAL EXECUTIVE EMPHASIZES THE VALUE OF NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS IN CLINICAL RESEARCH

Irvine, CA // Thursday, June 18, 2009 - Looking to improve efficiencies and control costs, pharmaceutical and biotech companies are scrutinizing the ways people lead, follow, and interact in a team setting, according to Allison McCormick, Vice President, Global Project Management and Logistics for Paragon Biomedical.

McCormick, and two of her industry colleagues, will lead a session on how organizations can bring out the best in leaders, teams, and relationships during the 2009 Drug Information Association (DIA) conference in San Diego, June 22 - 24.

The goal of the session is to examine how focusing on key non-technical competencies can bring out the best in project teams. Emphasis will be placed on team, leadership and relationship behaviors that are often either overlooked or underappreciated when assessing the factors essential for successful team performance.

McCormick will be joined by Natalie Masterton, Clinical Project Manager for Seattle Genetics; and Karole Sutherland of Sutherland Consulting Group.
