(Irvine, CA // Wednesday, June 3, 2009 - Gena Reed, founder and chief executive officer of Paragon Biomedical, was honored May 21 at the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business awards luncheon.

Reed was one of five finalists chosen from a field of 160 nominees to receive the highly-coveted annual award. The Orange County Business Journal created the honor in 1994 to recognize the achievements of the top women executives and entrepreneurs in Orange County, CA.

She and her husband, Nick, founded Paragon Biomedical in 1989. Since then, the company has grown to be one of the most successful, full-service, woman-owned contract research organizations (CRO) in the industry.
