PARAGON BIOMEDICAL APPOINTS MARK HARVILL TO PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Irvine, CA – Monday, September 17, 2007

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA // September 17, 2007 - Paragon Biomedical, Inc., a U.S.-based contract research organization (CRO) that manages global Phase I-IV clinical trials, has appointed Mark Harvill to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer.

In making the announcement, Paragon’s Chief Executive Officer Gena Reed said that Harvill’s appointment to President is a credit to his accomplishments since joining Paragon in September 2006 as Chief Operating Officer.

“Mark has been overseeing and leading the global clinical, data operations, and business development functional areas of our company, and he has done a tremendous job of orienting and integrating himself to the Paragon team,” Reed said. “He has also been a driver in establishing Paragon’s strategic messaging and positioning in the global markets we serve. His contributions have been extremely valuable.”

Reed said Harvill will continue to oversee the global business development, clinical and data operations business units of the company, but will add responsibilities for business financial services, human resources, information technology, and quality operations.

“Mark’s experience is ideally suited to Paragon as we continue our focus on strategic growth and expansion,” Reed said. “He and I will continue to work together to move Paragon forward in the global clinical trials market.”

Harvill brought more than 12 years of CRO experience to Paragon when he joined its leadership team in 2006. He previously held a number of leadership roles in a global data-services CRO, including senior vice president responsible for global project management, business development, strategy development and implementation, and strategic customer relationship management.

Harvill earned a master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in investor relations from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Oklahoma Christian University.
